Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Niksar Vocational School organized the Opening Ceremony and Vocational Education Workshop for the academic year 2024-2025.
The event was attended by Niksar District Governor Ekrem Çeçen, Acting Mayor of Niksar Mustafa Koyuncu, Secretary General of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Prof. Dr. Muhittin Demiray, Coordinator of Vocational Schools Prof. Dr. Resul Gerçekcioğlu, Dean of Niksar Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Ahmet Güven, Director of Culture and Tourism Abdi Dölek, invitees from the district protocol, President of Niksar Chamber of Commerce Vedat Ülker, workshop participants from various sectors, academic and administrative staff, and students. The program started with a music performance by students of TOGU State Conservatory, followed by protocol speeches, an opening lecture, and workshop sessions.
In his speech, Assoc. Dr. Fatih Sobacı, the Director of Niksar Vocational School, expressed his satisfaction in seeing students who have been admitted to TOGU. He thanked the participants and representatives from various sectors for their contributions to the workshop.
District Governor Ekrem Çeçen wished all students and academics a successful academic year, emphasized the importance of leaving a mark in society, and thanked all participants for their contributions to the workshop.
Prof. Dr. Muhittin Demiray, who delivered the opening lecture, emphasized the importance of making the right decisions at the right time and place to become the subject, not the object, of history, especially in light of recent events worldwide, particularly in Gaza. After a short break for refreshments, the workshop sessions on Vocational Education commenced. A total of 56 participants from 8 different sectors, including top-level executives, directors, engineers, financial advisors, bankers, and managers, contributed their views and suggestions to enhance the quality of education at the school and update the curriculum. The workshop sessions took place in 8 separate rooms. The workshop concluded with a closing session where evaluations and opinions were discussed.
Overall, the Opening Ceremony and Vocational Education Workshop organized by Niksar Vocational School of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University paved the way for insightful discussions and collaborations to further improve the quality of education and training provided.
